Why I don't shop at IKEA

We went to IKEA this afternoon (ok people, I still shop there occasionally....we have mostly grown up furniture now so leave me alone) in hopes to find some new storage options for the kids' toys. I'm tired of looking at them and dealing with an overflowing toy box and unorganized set of shelves/cubbies. After must angst, Tim and I finally decide on two shelving units and seem confident in our choice. Of course, before we check out we decide to stroll through the "scratch and dent" area and find the Taj Mahal of shelves. I think this unit could store all of their toys plus the actual children and Tim was all about buying it. I couldn't imagine where it would fit, while Tim was ready to rearrange the whole house to make this thing work. On top of it, we found another shelving unit to match Sophie's room and both were very good prices.

Long story short, we sat in the "scratch and dent" area for a good half hour debating our decision. We felt like we were in the middle of an actual IKEA commercial the way we were just sitting on a couch debating our next purchase. It ended up being too exhausting for us to figure out, so we made the entire trip to IKEA and walked out with $9.00 worth of plastic bins. This just goes to show that given enough time, Tim and I are able to talk ourselves out of anything. And now I'm left searching online for shelving/storage......love it.

here is my storage tip...little white bags with Salvation Army printed on them. It's great- someone else gets to worry about where to store the endless amount of toys that never seem to get picked up!

Here is my problem, we would have sat there for an hour and still walked out with whatever it was that may or may not fit in the house! At least you didn't spend unwisely!! Wait, your kids actually put their toys in something? I thought toys were only allowed all over the floor.

Cheryl, "The Goppie" (as in The Ohio State University) is wondering if you may have left your camera at IKEA. You know, when it comes to the Blog and pictures of the grandbabies... he is like a crack addict...he has GOT to have his daily fix (twice a week at the VERY least). Oh, yeah...he said I need to make sure you realize he only wants fresh produce...no recycling old pictures.
