Sweet Noah

Most of the time, Noah is running around with endless energy and getting into everything....and then there are moments like this, when he's completely content reading one of his favorite books and just hanging out. I was pretty proud that I was able to sneak a picture in! He is also becoming Daddy's shadow and loves to help when Daddy is doing yard work.
Nothing like reading a book on a nice sunny afternoon!
Here's Noah helping Daddy plant some new flowers. He loves to get his hands dirty!

Sophie's First Ballet Recital

Sophie had her very first ballet recital this past Saturday and she did such a wonderful job! I was so worried about how she'd react with being on the big stage, but she did just great (we were the crazy parents waving frantically at her on the stage so she could spot us and calm down)! She loved her sparkly outfit and looked so cute!
Here's Sophie doing some stretches before the performance.
You can't really see Sophie in this picture (she's on the far left, hiding), but here they are getting ready to do their final dance.
They obviously don't know how to react with all the applause!!! We are so very proud of Sophie. She has decided she likes soccer much better than ballet, but she finished the class with such a positive attitude. And now she's ready to try some other new activities!

Thanks Dad!

I have to take a moment and thank my Dad for taking care of Sophie and Noah this past week. Since our nanny is visiting family in the Philippines, we have been lost without her! But, my Dad came out and was absolutely wonderful. He took great care of the kids. The dishes were done when I arrived home, along with him vacuuming, doing laundry, and even making us dinner! We were all very spoiled and we loved having him out here with us. Thanks so much Dad! We love you!

Life with Tim

Tim never ceases to amaze me. This past Sunday, Tim and Sophie went to the elementary school right next to our house to fly Sophie's kite. It was the perfect windy day and she was very excited. I stayed behind since Noah was napping (lucky me;)). About five minutes later (probably more like three), Sophie comes running home with Tim behind her saying her kite is stuck in a tree. Just as Tim was telling her to hold on tight and not let go, she literally let go of the kite and it went flying away and straight into a tree.

Tim and Sophie decide to go back to the school and see what they could do to get it out. The following pictures tell the rest of the story.....Sophie came running back home and said, "MOMMY! Daddy got the bat, tennis racket, and kite all stuck in the tree! No more bat, no more racket, no more kite."

I simply couldn't believe what I had just heard, so I walked over with Noah to see for myself, with camera in hand. I don't think I could have gotten everything stuck if I had tried!
Here's the handle part of the kite that is left...the rest flew away:(
Here's the tennis racket, which we thankfully got down by throwing yet another bat up in the tree.
How he got a heavy slow-pitch bat stuck in a tree so perfectly, I have no idea. Thankfully, we managed to get this safely down as well without killing anybody!

Sun!

It's still been a little chilly, but the kids are still able to enjoy some outside fun!
Moments before this picture, they were actually torturing Sierra....thank goodness she's such a good sport!
This is what happens when Daddy gets Noah dressed.

What's his name??!?

Sophie and I were talking about her friends at school. As I was looking through some pictures, I noticed a few kids from her class who I didn't know. She's sitting next to me and telling me the names of the kids as I point to them in the pictures. I point to a couple of girls and she says, "That's Victoria, that's Nikki, and that's Jasmine." I point to one of the boys and she says, "That's Tomato." I start laughing and ask her what his real name is and she responds, "I really think it's Tomato!" Now, I'm pretty certain his name is not Tomato, but I could not stop laughing for a good five minutes......maybe he's cousins with Apple?

Daddy's Helpers

Daddy and Sophie went shopping together for some trees and when they returned, both the kids were excited to come home and help Daddy plant them! They didn't do much of the actual "helping" part, but they had a great time getting dirty!
Daddy dug a hole and Sophie and Noah thought it would be fun to jump in and help out!

Weekend Activities

We had a great weekend, despite the yucky weather. We took the kids and Sierra to San Francisco on Saturday, went to the beach (even though it was freezing!) and then headed to Market Street so I could do a little shopping. Lucky for us, we ran right into the St. Patrick's Day parade, so Tim stayed with the kids and enjoyed the parade while I was able to shop in peace (thanks Tim!).  I scored some good deals and we were home in time to watch some basketball! Win, win!

On Sunday, we took the kids to the St. Patrick's Festival here in Dublin. The kids had a good time on the rides and enjoyed some junk food! All in all, it was a great weekend!
Here's Sophie on the merry-go-round!
Noah's excited for this ride to get going!
Sophie and Daddy are ready to get dizzy!
I had to take a picture of Sophie experiencing her very first cotton candy treat! She immediately asked if cotton candy was bad for your teeth and when I told her, she quickly finished up and didn't want anymore!
Noah is enjoying part of Daddy's funnel cake! Yum!

Teddy Bear Tea Party

Sophie had a Teddy Bear Tea Party on Friday at school. The kids sang several songs and then parents were invited to the tea party afterwards. We had a lot of fun!
Sophie had a hard time choosing which bear to bring to school. She finally settled on the classic Tenderheart Care Bear!
Here they are during their performance! They were all so cute and did so well!

Rainy Days

With all the rain we've been getting, the kids have been busy doing indoor activities. Lately, Noah's favorite is good 'ol Play-Doh.....I seriously don't know what we'd do without it!
Total concentration.

Pearly Whites

The dentist came to visit Sophie's school last week and apparently she really got the message about maintaining healthy teeth. I was sound asleep when Sophie started screaming for me. As I enter her room, she is frantically talking about her teeth and whether or not they are clean and healthy. I reassure her and let her know she brushes all the time and does a very good job....I pat her on the back as I am half asleep and tell her to go back to bed.

Moments later, she is in my room, telling me she doesn't feel like she did a good job brushing tonight and also forgot to floss. As soon as I tell her not to worry about it and she'll do a better job in the morning, she insists on brushing her teeth (this is at midnight, mind you) and flossing. So, instead of fighting her, I got up and we brushed and flossed our teeth together in the middle of the night. I'm not sure what this dentist said, but she is religious about flossing and brushing now....if only she didn't have to do it in the middle of the night!

Happy Birthday Aunt Alyson!

Happy Birthday! Hope you have a fantastic day! Make sure to eat a lot of ice cream and cake for the kids!

Ice Cream Faces

We made ice cream sundaes last night and the kids absolutely loved it. Unfortunately, they also made a big mess!
Sophie and Noah decided to make soup out of their sundaes......fabulous.
Here's Noah's homemade soup....such a fun, sticky mess to clean up!
