The end of the school year is finally nearing.....10 more days and pretty much everyone is ready to be done, not just our seniors, but the rest of us as well! The weather is getting warmer and all I want to do is wear flip flops to work!!!
It's about this time of year I realize how lucky I am to have my summers off to spend with my kids. I'm very excited to enjoy the warm weather, hang out at the park, and just be with Sophie and Noah......10 more days, 10 more days, 10 more days.....

The Latest Breakdancing Move
Noah thinks this is some form of breakdancing. He's just like his daddy; he never stops entertaining us!!

Art and Wind Festival
We attended the annual Art and Wind Festival today. We did our best to take in and appreciate as much from the local artists as possible, but we ended up spending the majority of our time standing in line for bounce houses and carnival rides! We still ended up having a great time, even though it felt like winter outside! The sun finally came out later in the afternoon, but we braved the 60 degree weather outdoors this morning ;-)

Fevers Suck
Noah had a high fever last night, so I spent most of the night sleeping on his floor, pacing back and forth, and googling every illness associated with high fevers. Thankfully, his fever broke this morning so we are hoping he fought off whatever little viral thing he may have had. I hate the fact that I know fevers are very common and a very normal way for babies to fight off infection, but when it happens to my child, my imagination soars through the roof and I think my child has contracted some rare disease!
This morning, he's acting his normal self as he's already hit his sister and climbed onto the table! Let's hope!

A little bit of everything...and a whole lot of nothing...
Sometimes I wonder if multi-tasking is a good thing. I certainly think it's a good skill and I do believe it's a requirement for every mother to be able to multi-task, but I also believe it's okay to slow down and take things one moment at a time....live in the present, not worry so much about what's on the agenda and what needs to be done next. Well, this was one of those weekends where we didn't have to navigate through a swarm of people so I can buy baby wipes by the thousands, and then follow-up with a trip to the grocery store, and find time to do laundry and every other chore. Instead, we relaxed. And we enjoyed it. We did what we felt, whether it be to wander around the farmer's market or hit the beach for a little while. We didn't have a "to-do" list. On the contrary, we hung out and for once......I finally feel rejuvenated.
We decided to buy some fresh fruit and veggies at the farmer's market. Here's Sophie and Daddy taking a quick break on our way there.

Noah's Check-up
Noah had his 15 month check-up today and he is a very healthy boy! He's in the 95th percentile in height (33 in.) and the 75th percentile in weight (26 lbs.). Unfortunately, his shots didn't go too well today. Had the nurse listened to me when I said my son is freakishly strong, everything probably would have turned out okay. I was assigned to hold his upper body in place, while the nurse (not our usual nurse) was going to handle the lower body while giving him the shots in his thigh. The first one went fine because the poor guy had no clue. He screamed bloody murder and gave me this look like, "How could you let this happen?!" Of course he starts to fidget like crazy and I asked her if she needed my help. She said "no" and with a smile on my face, I let her handle it knowing damn well she did need help holding his legs! He manages to get loose so she ended up having to poke him twice for his second shot because she didn't get the goods in.My poor little baby was whimpering like a little puppy afterward! Thank goodness he recovered quickly, but I know he's going to have a nice size bump to show for it tomorrow! Other than that traumatic experience, I'm happy to know Noah is a happy and healthy boy!

Happy Birthday Daddy!

We celebrated Daddy's birthday today! We let him choose anything he wanted for dinner and he chose to go to......Chuck E. Cheese. It made me feel a little guilty because had it been my choice, I probably would have chosen to be by myself on a deserted island for the day! He used the kids as an excuse, but who is he kidding, he would have wanted to go there if it was just the two of us! We ended up having a great time and the kids had a blast too. Tim spent much of his time playing games with Sophie while I spent the majority of the time chasing Noah up every single skeeball lane.We finished the evening off with cake at home, which I made at Tim's request late last night (pat self on back)! Sophie, Noah, and I hope you had a great day Daddy! In case you didn't know, we think you are the best Daddy ever. We can always count on you to make us laugh, smile, and feel good.....We love you!!

Mom's Day
We spent the weekend in Reno for Mother's Day and had a great time. Fortunately for us, the weather was perfect and Sophie and Noah had lots of fun playing with Mama and Papa! The best part of the weekend for me was when we arrived home and Sophie ran into the house where she had hidden her Mother's Day present. She made me the most beautiful pin, which I will wear proudly, and decorated the most beautiful card. I actually cried over it this year because this is probably the first real year where Sophie knew what it meant, expressed how she felt, and made the most beautiful present ever all by herself! I'm such a sap.

Good Morning!
This morning was like every other morning, except I almost suffered a mild heart attack from Noah scaring the crap out of me. Sophie typically wakes and comes into my bedroom while I get ready for work. Usually, Noah starts to wake up and plays in his crib for a short time while I finish up. As Sophie and I are walking down the hallway into the family room, I see Noah's door handle start to move up and down. During this period of probably 1.3 seconds, a million things went through my mind and of course the most prominent was, "Who the hell is trying to kidnap my son?!!!" My stomach was in my throat at this moment and the door swings wide open and Noah grunts and walks out with a smile on his face.
So, not only do I have a son who climbs tables, ladders, couches, and trees...I have a little 15-month old who has mastered climbing out of his own crib. The crib mattress is at the lowest possible setting, so now we're faced with having to purchase a tent to trap him in there like the animal he is!

Sophie's Beanbag
Who needs sun at the beach?
I was determined to spend part of the day at the beach over the weekend as we are still itching for consistently warm weather. Tim warned that it wouldn't be a good day, but it's a good thing I'm completely stubborn and wouldn't allow him to bail on me. So, we had fun playing in the sand, breathing in the fresh air, and wearing fleece jackets to keep us warm from the foggy and cold day!
Sophie had fun writing her name in the sand and collecting as much sand as possible in her shoes, pants, socks, etc.
