Updates

I think I would be a better blogger if I had 3-day weekends every week. For once, I am able to sit down and actually relax...we decided not to go out of town this weekend because of the crazy weather in Reno and I am feeling glad we laid low. My thoughts and updates in a nutshell:
  • Nancy is learning to drive and I get to teach her...in my minivan...I understand this became my life.....but really? She's doing a good job so far and I have kept my cool.....relatively.
  • Sophie started softball already...just in time for us to receive 5 inches of rain in less than a week.
  • Sophie's teacher sent out an email with ADDITIONAL optional worksheets to work on because some parents asked for more homework....who in the heck ARE these parents? What if I emailed and asked for LESS? Would she take away a few stacks? Whoever these parents are....I hate them.
  • Noah was frustrated the other day and said, "Crap!" Unfortunately, I think I am the only one in the family that actually says that, so it's pretty clear who he got it from.....CRAP!
  • Tim's renovation at work is underway. So, thankfully, our schedule is now busier...because that is what we need in our lives!

Cheryl, thanks for the update! So glad to hear things are 'normal' in the Youngberg household. Unfortunately I must admit to "crap" being one of my favorites...thankfully I am so rarely around the little fellow I don't feel the least bit guilty letting you shoulder total responsibility for that one. One thing missing from your update is pictures of those two little cuties at your house (and I am NOT referring to Sierra and Max, as cute as they may be). I guess you didn't care for my other suggestion?

I say you email the teacher and find out if she/he would remove some homework? worth a shot...Secondly, MINI VAN, that is all I have to say about that. Thirdly, if crap is the worst thing coming out of his mouth, you are ahead of the game-Naomi prefers "Damn it" but so far it is reserved for at home when Jeff and I are trying not to laugh. Like when her old school VCR broke with one of her favorite movies in it...Yeah I said VCR.

Hey, Monroe, don't knock the miniwan. Bet the doors to your SUV don't open the way CP's do on her sweet a** ride. My mom has one and I gotta say, it may be a mini van, but it is super convenient.

Those parents need shot. Can we say "tiger parents"? Send them to the teacher supply store and they can get some workbooks for their kids to work on.

And finally...sometimes only "crap" and "damn it" can adequately express how they feel. Don't quash their creativity. :)

Sounds like a busy household!!! I'm with you on the homework thing. Some people just have too much time on their hands. I know you love your mini van. It's the best invention since sliced bread. I prefer to call it the mommy mobile.
