My life, and this blog for that matter, will forever consist of status updates. Updates via Facebook, Twitter, quick emails, texts to others, instant messaging....you get the picture. And now, this blog as I know it is slowly but surely becoming another quick opportunity to give you an update on my fast-paced and exciting life. Ok, maybe not so much on the exciting side, but you get the picture!
- I'm tired a lot lately. I'm sure a part of this could be the Benadryl I am taking on a nightly basis because my allergies are a killer, but I'm certain there's more to blame.
- We spent 4 hours the other night looking for Noah's blankie. Turned the house upside down, tripping over toys in the middle of the night in the backyard, only to find it hiding under one of Sophie's stuffed animals in her bedroom. Blankets shouldn't be hard to find, but Noah's is now a piece of thread.....so it's harder, ok? Plus, I wasn't about to wean him off the blankie cold turkey....it's about me and I...I mean HE...needed it.
- Sophie is doing well in softball and enjoying it (pictures to follow). However I don't know how we will function as a family when everyone has an activity on the same night. Is that what they mean when they talk about "overscheduled kids?"
- Tim keeps asking me about Noah and pre-school. I keep telling him to back off because what I feel like I'm hearing is I need to send my kids off to college really far away. For goodness sakes, I just came to grips with the fact that I have a kindergartener....now he wants Noah to start school too? Who does he think he is?
- I'm addicted to Scrabble. Enough said.
- I watched the documentary, Jesus Camp. I could be suffering PTSD from the experience and I keep urging others to watch it. I need to process all of it and I can't do it alone. Someone please...watch it soon so we can discuss.
- Last week someone broke the news that Spring Break is actually two weeks away, not one like I originally thought. My countdown is off....by an entire week....I think I shed some tears over that little revelation. I'm so ready for a break.
- I received a $100 gift card to Nordstrom last week. I spent an hour roaming the store and couldn't find anything to buy. Retail therapy isn't even working for me. Why is it when I have money to burn, I can't?
- Our dryer broke last week and I had to do three loads of laundry at the laundromat on a Sunday afternoon. It was 75 degrees out and I was in a laundromat doing laundry. Plus, I was impatient and dried everything on the industrial strength HOT AS HELL setting. Clothes can actually burn, did you know that? I now owe everyone in the family a new blanket to cozy up with because, as Tim tells me, his OSU blanket is now crispy. And it costs $6.25 for one use of their industrial size washer.....for real.
- Tim and I finally purchased a dresser and completed our bedroom set. It only took 8 years into our marriage. Woo hoo!

hysterical...
Love the post Cheryl. I was wondering...if I print out all of your posts since you started this thing, assembled them into a book, got it picked up by a publisher....can I have a percentage as your agent? Honestly...you are in the wrong line of work. And to answer your question, NO, that is not what they mean by overscheduled kids...its what they mean by overscheduled parents.
Scrabble, grandma...I mean Cheryl, really? Congratulations on your new dresser...and Jesus Camp is on my list, but since you have PTSD should I really watch it? I mean, I have a lot going on...
I love the honesty! So refreshing. :)
Wow sounds like you've been busy. Why is it so difficult to find a kids blanket. Can't they remember where they put it the last time? I'm wondering if Alexis is going to ask to take hers to kindergarten next year.
What is Jesus Camp?
